The Department of Surgery is actively involved in translational research involving tissue engineering and molecular biology. This has also been an area of interest for our Plastics Surgeons such as Burns. Recently the academics and researchers from the Urology and Paediatric Surgery Division within the department have ongoing collaborations with the Tissue Engineering Group in our institution and counterparts overseas, in developing solutions for patients with urethral pathology.
