Research Summary
As a clinician investigator, I firmly believe that research is an activity that grows organically from the clinical questions and scenarios encountered in daily work. As such, my research focuses on outcomes, care provision and delivery, and transition of care, particularly in the area of congenital anomalies which require long term follow-up to adulthood. My work on anorectal malformation and Hirschsprung’s disease explores the long-term impact of the disease and requirements for healthcare support, providing insight into areas for care improvement.
I have supervised and co-authored over 60 publications and more than 80 abstract presentations at international scientific meetings. I am site primary investigator in 4 global multicentre studies, and part of the editorial board of a major international paediatric surgical journal.
I am a passionate advocate for diversity and sustainability in surgery.
